About the Washington Beer & Wine Wholesalers Association

Phil Wayt, Executive Director
Hello. I’m Phil Wayt, executive director of the Washington Beer & Wine Wholesalers Association.

The Washington Beer & Wine Wholesalers Association was founded in 1934 as a trade association for Washington State’s beer and wine distributors. Our members include nearly 50 distribution companies who represent approximately 3000 jobs in our state. A distributor’s job is to ensure that wine and beer are delivered in an accountable and efficient manner from the breweries and wineries that produce them to the grocery stores, restaurants, convenience stores and other retail outlets that are properly licensed to sell them to the public.

LeFevre-Bliesner QuoteWBWWA represents its members with lawmakers and regulators both in Olympia and Washington D.C. We keep our members up to date on the latest laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with laws and the safe and responsible distribution of beer and wine. Washington State distributors are also responsible for beer and wine excise tax which funds important state programs and accounts including the Program and Violence Reduction Drug Enforcement Program, the Health Services Account and the state’s General Revenue Account.

WBWWA supports Washington State’s three-tier system of beer and wine distribution. WBWWA works to protect the independence of Washington’s distributors as they provide consumers with responsible access to a wide choice of quality beer and wine products.

WBWWA members are dedicated to the safe and responsible distribution of beer and wine products. Wholesalers include business men and women who care about how their businesses affect their communities and state. They work with state and local groups to help provide community-based solutions on issues such as alcohol abuse, drunk driving, underage drinking and container recycling.

If you have any questions or would like additional information about WBWWA not on our website, please contact us at (360) 352-5252.

Sincerely,

Phil Wayt, executive director
